Can you tell us a bit about your background?

I left school at 17 and started working as a travel agent for about 3-4 years. During that time, I gravitated toward the sales side of the business, which sparked my interest in a sales-driven career. What really excites me about this field is the thrill of finding a “diamond in the rough” and building strong, lasting relationships through account management.

What were you doing before you joined our team?

Before joining KMB, I gained extensive experience in my previous role, where I was involved in a variety of projects. This diverse experience allowed me to develop a broad skill set that has been invaluable in my current role. I’ve been able to hit the ground running at KMB, thanks to the freedom and autonomy the company offers. My prior experiences have prepared me to navigate this role with confidence and efficiency.

What does your day-to-day look like in your role as a Business Development professional at KMB?

My day-to-day at KMB involves a mix of strategic planning and hands-on activities. I focus on identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, managing client accounts, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders. I also spend time analysing market trends, setting up and optimising CRM systems, and collaborating with the team to ensure we are all aligned in our business development efforts.

What are some of the key projects or initiatives you’ve been involved in since joining?

Since joining KMB, I’ve been heavily involved in setting up a new CRM system, which has completely transformed the way the company operates. I’ve also created training manuals to help the team effectively use the CRM, and I’ve worked to convert the old way of working into a more streamlined, efficient process.

What attracted you to KMB, and how has your experience matched your expectations so far?

During my interview, I really connected with Paul, which played a significant role in my decision to join KMB. It was a huge decision for me, as I’m a creature of habit and routine, but I was excited about the opportunity to work with logistics and warehouse managers and to try my hand in a new industry. After meeting the wider team, I felt it was the right fit. The management style here is different from what I’ve experienced before, but the directors have been genuinely supportive. So far, my experience has exceeded my expectations, and I’m glad I made the move.

How have you found the team culture?

The team culture at KMB is both friendly and open, which I really appreciate. The atmosphere in the office is relaxed but professional, meaning the work gets done efficiently while maintaining a positive and collaborative environment. I also like the layout of the office, which fosters communication and teamwork. The way we work together has made it easy to integrate and contribute effectively to the team.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, my life revolves around my daughter. We spend a lot of time together, whether it’s catching up with friends, going to football games (I’m a Villa fan), or enjoying activities like bowling, swimming, and going to the cinema. I also love taking her to Ninja Warrior and we both watched Beetlejuice recently.
